What is RSA Disability Support Services?

RSA Disability Support Services is dedicated to offering disability respite accommodation services. Our core belief is rooted in the principle that everyone should be treated equally. With a mission focused on making life easier, better, and brighter, we are committed to providing services specifically designed for Australians living with disabilities in Melbourne, Victoria.

What services do we provide?

Our range of services includes Short Term Accommodation (STA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) tailored to meet the unique needs of all our clients.

Where are we located?

Our respite homes are located in Moonee PondsThornbury, and Malvern East, providing a warm and welcoming environment for our clients to rest and recharge.

What is the difference between STA and SIL?

Short Term Accommodation (STA) previously known as respite, offers temporary accommodation and support.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) support that provides help and/ or supervision with daily tasks to help you/ your loved ones live as independently as possible, while building your skills. 

What is Medium Term Accommodation? Do you offer it?

Medium Term Accommodation is temporary respite accommodation up to 90 Days before moving to a permanent and/or long term accommodation. Yes, we offer Medium Term Accommodation to all our clients.

Can I have external care to come and visit?

Yes, you the option to engage in external care, and support workers to come and assist you.

Are you open during the holidays?

We are open 365 days a year without any gaps or breaks.

What are the arrangements around food?

We have a wonderful professional chef on board, crafting delightful meals that prioritize both taste and nutritional value.

What is the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) aims to help people with disabilities set and reach their goals, figure out the support they need, and decide where to get that support. The NDIS supports:

  • people with a permanent disability and children with developmental delay; their family and carers, by funding reasonable and necessary support for each person’s unique needs
  • all Australians, by providing a safety net for anyone who acquires a disability in the future.

The NDIS will provide funding for ‘reasonable and necessary’ support, services and equipment to assist a person to achieve their goals.
